Geotrack International has performed numerous thermal
history reconstruction studies across North Western Australia. These
studies have identified a series of major regional paleothermal episodes,
which appear to share a common timing and underlying mechanism. Each
of these episodes can have an important influence on the generation
and distribution of hydrocarbons in particular parts of the basins
of northern Australia, as illustrated by constrained thermal history
reconstruction in key well. You can click on the red coloured wells
for a summary of the reconstructions from a range of sedimentary basins
each week as we release them.
