Research at the University of Birmingham

Over the last few years, Geotrack have supported a PhD study at the University of Birmingham (UK) in which Simon Holford, supervised by Dr Jonathan Turner, has used AFTA data extracted from a number of non-exclusive Geotrack Reports in the East Irish Sea Basin and adjacent regions to investigate the regional thermo-tectonic development of the region. In addition, a number of companies have contributed data from previous commercial studies in the region. Several publications have resulted from this collaboration, and more are expected to emerge in the near future.

With this project drawing to a close, Geotrack and Dr Jonathan Turner are now embarking on a similar project focussing on the Bristol Channel and SE England, which is to be undertaken by John Kelly. This project will draw heavily on Geotrack’s non-exclusive study of the Bristol Channel region. Stay tuned for some exciting developments!
